This free half day seminar may be attended by anyone interested in learning about the new features in the general mechanics libraries of GT-SUITE. These libraries are the foundation of GT-SUITE mechanical applications and can be used to extend the existing mechanical applications to meet the continually changing demands of these applications. No previous experience with the software is required. This seminar will benefit existing users of mechanical applications including Vehicle, Transmission, Cranktrain, Timing Drive and Valvetrain. The new features to be presented in this seminar include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Flexible Bodies – Import solid models and mesh them for use in mechanical multibody dynamic (MBD) simulations. Perform optional dynamic (modal) reduction of Finite Element Model (FEM) for faster MBD simulations.
  • Flexible Contact Modeling – Generate contact models between surfaces of a Finite Element Model (FEM) and rigid other rigid bodies.
  • HD Modeling – Overview of the Hydrodynamic models of varying levels of fidelity in GT-SUITE.
  • Modal Analysis – Calculate natural frequencies and identify mode shapes for your system, to identify specific operating conditions to focus on for time-domain simulations.
  • Generalized Torsional Frequency Analysis – Evaluate torsional vibrations in entire vehicle models including, cranktrain, dampers, transmission and driveline.
  • Demonstration of General Mechanics models to Select Applications

Computers will NOT be available for this seminar and are not required.
