This course is intended for users of GT-POWER who want to learn some of the more advanced features. The specific topics covered are:
1. Turbochargers: The participant will learn how turbochargers are simulated in GT-POWER and add a turbocharger to an existing model. In addition, techniques to examine convergence and improve run time will be addressed.
2. Cylinder Pressure Analysis: The participant will learn how to calculate combustion burn rate from measured pressure data using both TPA (three-pressure analysis) and the more conventional method. 3. Controls: The participant will learn how to use controls templates. The participant will learn how to build a control system to achieve a target value, for example, control of EGR from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold.
4. Optimization/DOE: The participant will learn both the Optimizer and Design of Experiments, and when to use the appropriate tool. An example of a DOE will be run and data will be post-processed in DOE -Post.
5. Open Forum: Discussion of all topics realating to GT-POWER and GT-SUITE. Some topics of interest may be:
- Predictive Combustion
- Simultaneous coupled simulation of engine, cooling system, powertrain, fuel system, ect
- GT-POST
- Transient simulation
- Predictive cylinder wall temperature model
GTI reserves the right to limit the number of registrations at university discounted pricing to 2 members per Formula SAE or Formula student team. Additional members of a team may register at full price. If more than 2 members of a team want to attend at university pricing, please contact GTI and the additional members will be placed on a waiting list.
