Brian is a leader in Technology and Simulation Development at Copeland, where he has worked for 28 years in scroll compressor development. Brian is passionate about developing new engineering tools to find innovative compression solutions within the changing landscape of the HVACR industry. Over the course of his career, Brian has been awarded four patents and has been a pioneer in modulated scroll compressor technology. Brian holds MSME and BME degrees from the University of Dayton in Ohio.

Preston Gaines
MBDE Engineering Specialist
Copeland LP

Preston is an MBDE Engineering Specialist at Copeland LP. He, and the team he works with, are tasked with creating, validating, and democratizing analysis tools for the wider engineering base within Copeland. Preston is originally from Texas, but has lived and worked in Wisconsin and Ohio. Previous roles have included design and project engineering, but he has found a home in Model Based Digital Engineering. He holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and master’s in mechanical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Adam D’Amico
MBDE Engineering Specialist

Adam D’Amico is a Model Based Digital Engineering Specialist in Copeland’s Scroll Compressor Technology and Simulation group. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University and has 13 years of Commercial and Residential compressor development experience. Adam is currently leading the integration of GT-Play simulation into Copeland’s compressor design process.
