XiL Engineer
GammaTech Engineering (GTE), a Gamma Technologies LLC company, is looking for a XiL Engineer with a solid work ethic, excellent judgment, and a desire to build a long-term career with us. This position is located in Turin, Italy.
Position Summary
You would join our XiL team, which has over 10 years of experience in developing solutions for Model-in-the-Loop (MiL), Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) applications. Specifically, the team focuses on HiL rig setup and configuration, the development of XiL-suitable physics-based models, and their deployment for ECU virtual calibration and verification & validation activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Configuring and setting up of HiL simulators I/O based on system datasheets and specifications.
- Constructing virtual ECUs and simplified modeling of CAN/LIN networks.
- Building HiL-oriented multi-physics plant models of innovative powertrain subsystems (ICE, eMotors, batteries, etc) using GT-SUITE and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Deploying the above-mentioned models onto the HiL system.
- Documenting and presenting results to clients.
- Devising alternative design solutions for complex problems.
- Collaborating closely with customers, fostering a positive and cooperative relationship.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Masters Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or similar.
- Strong theoretical background and interest in powertrain technologies
- Good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, and knowledge of GT-Suite is preferable but not required.
- Prior experience with dSPACE, ETAS, and VECTOR toolchains is an advantage.
- Familiarity with HiL systems is a plus.
- Proficient in both Italian and English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- A proactive attitude towards continuous learning.
- Willingness to work at customer premises and to travel abroad, sometimes for extended period of time.
