HR Business Partner

Job Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and recruiting, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and overseeing company policies and practices. The position delivers value-added service to management and employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Compliance

  • Responsible for operational HR activities for employees to ensure compliance with processes related to hiring, compensation, employee relations, immigration, etc. and recommend improvements when possible
  • Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices
  • Stay current with, and apply, local and state employment law and labor market changes and effectively align with HR goals
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements under Federal and state laws
  • Federal and state compliance reporting

Payroll Processing

  • Payroll processing for US employees
  • Accurate and timely processing of employee changes and information including but not limited to compensations, personal EE information, new hires, transfers, terminations, verifying the accuracy of all entries thru audits
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • Annual compensation increase administration

Benefits Administration

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits
  • Monthly reconciliation of all health and welfare benefits
  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims
  • Process and administer FMLA leave
  • 401k administration

Recruiting

  • Support full cycle recruiting
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria

Employee Engagement

  • Respond to employee concerns, needs related to policies and procedures
  • Administer new hire orientation
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to departmental managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Recommend innovative approaches to policies and procedures to effect continuous improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum 5 years of HR experience with demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, or any similar combination of experience and education
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification preferred
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Cultural awareness and organization savvy
  • Attention to detail, adaptable, resilient
  • Experience in resolving employee level issues and providing client level customer service
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications and PDF software such as Adobe
  • Experience and understanding of integrated HRIS and payroll software such as, ADP, PrismHR, Paycom, Paycor, Workday, Namely, SP SuccessFactors, etc…
  • Experience with ATS/RTS systems
