Cybersecurity Operations Analyst

Position Summary

We are looking for a creative, talented, and highly motivated Cybersecurity Operations Analyst to join our IT organization. The position’s primary focus is to mitigate the risk of security incidents through continuous improvements to our tools, processes, and behaviors. This person will design, implement, and maintain security programs that limit vulnerability and prevent the loss of data, and coordinate the response in the case of a security incident. Responsibilities of the position are diverse and will allow growth in cybersecurity and related fields.

Job Responsibilities

  • Routine security monitoring, enforcement, and implement company system patching strategy
  • Maintain site and regional office network security implementation
  • Design and maintain on-prem and cloud user access security audits
  • Maintain on-prem and cloud data backup integrity and ensure business continuity
  • Mitigate threats using Microsoft 365 Products (Defender, Sentinel, and Conditional Policies)
  • Manage annual external security audit and any other security vendor engagements including penetration testing, and external monitoring tools
  • Develop and maintain an IT security risk register, and use it to guide continuous improvements
  • Reduce risk by directly implementing fixes to remediate issues found by any source (audit, external monitoring, internal monitoring, etc.)
  • Support customer questionnaires and legal contracts relating to IT security
  • Manage internal employee security policies, training, and any other efforts to minimize risk caused by employee behavior
  • Ensure compliance with PCI and other established data security and privacy controls (GDPR, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain security incident response plan and coordinate the response to any breach

Essential Qualifications

  • BS degree in computer science or cybersecurity
  • CCNA or Network+ Certification and related experiences to demonstrate proficiency
  • At least one information security certification such as Security, PenTest, GCIA, OSCP or CISSP
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory, and GPO implementation
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix monitoring tools and security hardening technologies
  • Familiarity with M365 security implementation (Azure AD, Intune, Defender)
  • Familiarity with various networking (VLAN, LAN, WAN, VPN) monitoring tools
  • Proficient in one of the scripting languages: Windows PowerShell, Unix Shell Scripting, PHP, Perl, or Python
  • Self-starter and fast learner with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • 2 years minimum industry experience in IT security related role

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Certification
  • Experience with AWS Security
  • Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
  • Experience with source code version control tools such as SVN, Perforce, or GIT
