GT Presents at NASA’s TFAWS (Thermal and Fluids Analysis Workshop)

July 31, 2020

Please join us at NASA’s TFAWS (Thermal and Fluids Analysis Workshop), a free online event held August 18-20, designed for aerospace thermal and fluids analysts.  Leading aerospace organizations from around the world will be presenting their work.  GT-SUITE presentations include:

Lithium-ion Battery Combined Electrochemical and Thermal Modeling Techniques and Assumptions (August 20, 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM): In this paper we present a battery thermal and electrochemistry modeling workflow along with a set of assumptions and apply it to a Li-ion battery pack of 14 cells of cylindrical 18650 design, loosely based on a battery design for the Orion spacecraft. The workflow will be presented with GT-SUITE simulation software, but the principles and modeling techniques can be applied to any modeling tool. Examples will be demonstrated for charge, discharge, thermal runaway, predictive state of charge, and aging characterization.

GT-SUITE Multi-physics Simulation Software- Space Systems Demo (August 20, 2:30 PM -3:30 PM):  In this 1-hour demo, learn about how GT-SUITE can be used for solving multi-physics related problems of complex systems including cryogenic propulsion, two-phase flow systems, and Li-ion battery thermal.
