Gamma Technologies Announces Appointments of New Chairman, CEO

Westmont, IL, November 2, 2020 Gamma Technologies, LLC (“GT”), a leading provider of engineering simulation software, today announced the appointments of Dr. Thomas Morel as Chairman and Technology Adviser, and Dimple Shah as CEO. Mr. Shah replaces Dr. Morel, who is stepping down as CEO of the company after leading GT for 26 years since its inception. In his new role, Dr. Morel will chair the company Board and assist Mr. Shah in setting company direction and supporting key technology, product and strategic growth initiatives.

About Dr. Thomas Morel

Dr. Morel co-founded Gamma Technologies in 1994 with the vision of developing a unique CAE simulation tool combining many physical domains to address modeling of whole vehicles and of their powertrains. Having first focused on internal combustion engines with GT-POWER, GT rapidly dominated the market. The state-of-the-art software quickly expanded to simulate other systems such as thermal management, fluid systems, multi-body mechanics, electrical systems and fully integrated systems, giving rise to GT-SUITE, the company’s flagship product. Today, engineers around the globe use GT-SUITE to optimize products in many industries, including automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, power generation and more. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Morel was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the highest professional honors given to an engineer.

“My commitment to Gamma Technologies’ success remains as strong as it has always been,” said Dr. Morel. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with the company from the new perspective of Chairman in support of its CEO Dimple Shah, as GT embarks on its next phase of growth. I am also thrilled to continue contributing to the exciting development ideas being planned for GT-SUITE.”

Bob Lee, former Vice President at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), said, “I’ve known Tom and worked with him in a number of roles over the past 30 years. He was one of the first to recognize the need for more system-level physics simulation tools in the powertrain industry. Over the years, Tom’s strong leadership and dedication to technology and the customer has had an enormous impact on the automotive and simulation industries, resulting in the creation of the gold-standard tool suite used by organizations around the globe. It has been an honor to know and work with Tom and I wish him success in his new role.”

About Dimple Shah

Mr. Shah is a 25-year veteran of the CAE industry and brings to GT executive leadership experience that has driven transformative growth with a focus on simulation-powered industry innovation. Mr. Shah’s professional journey has been shaped by experiences that transformed a CAE startup (HKS, Inc.) into an exciting growth company (Abaqus, Inc.), and later to the development of a premier simulation brand (SIMULIA) at Dassault Systèmes. As Vice President of Worldwide Sales and a senior executive of the leadership team, Mr. Shah built and led a high performing global organization focused on delivering the promise of simulation to diverse industries. He brings to GT a passion for making CAE the preferred way to drive industry innovation.

“I am honored, humbled and excited by the opportunity to lead GT,” said Mr. Shah. “I am struck by how well GT’s core values and culture resonate with me personally. Under Tom’s visionary leadership, the GT team has built a best-in-class company that has made a lasting impact on how industries innovate. Our customers’ industries are undergoing rapid transformation, and we have a unique responsibility to help them successfully navigate this change. I am committed to building on our legacy and standard of excellence to write the next chapter of GT around expanded product innovation and market growth. I look forward to collaborating closely with Tom and the Board, the GT team and our customers to deliver the ever-growing promise of simulation technology.”
