自動車の電動化が進む中、マルチフィジックス・システムシミュレーションツールGT-SUITEは、多くの機能追加し、またオプションプロダクトをご提供することで、ここ数年で解析対象を大きく広げることができました。エンジン搭載車だけでなく、BEVFCEVなどの熱マネージメント解析にも、GT-SUITEをご利用いただくお客様が急速に増えていることを実感いたします。
数多あるGT-SUITEの特徴の中で最たるものが、システムシミュレーションツールでありながら、豊富な物理モデルによって比較的詳細なモデル化を実現し、計算精度を高めることができる点にあると考えています。一般的に精度の高いモデルというのは計算時間がかかりますが、GT-SUITEではモデル縮退や高速ソルバーGT-POWERxRTにデータ変換することで、Vプロセスの左バンクでの利用だけでなく、右バンクにおけるHILSでのバーチャルキャリブレーションや実機連成によるリアルタイムシミュレーションなど、開発工程のあらゆるプロセスに適用領域が拡大しています。さらにモデルの活用は一つの会社に留まらず、OEMとサプライヤ間でデータ共有して共同開発するなど、もはやMBDなしでは製品開発が成り立たなくなっていることは疑いようがありません。
これら現状を踏まえて本会では、幅広い領域での有効的な“GT-SUITEの使われ方”をご認識いただけるようにプログラムを企画いたしました。
まずGT-SUITEの開発元であるGamma Technologies社様には「Success Stories of xEV Development with GT-SUITE in the U.S. and Europe(欧米におけるGT-SUITEを用いたxEV開発成功事例)」と題して最近の欧米でのユーザーカンファレンスなどでご発表された各社の活用事例をサマリ形式でご紹介いただきます。
マツダ様からはBEVの熱マネージメントとGT-POWERxRTを用いたソルバー高速化事例の2件のご発表をいただきます。またトヨタ自動車様からは、事業所間のモデル共有および分散実行環境構築事例を、自動車業界以外の活用事例としては、ロケット開発のスタートアップとして著名なインターステラテクノロジズ様より液体ロケットエンジン領域でのGT-SUITE活用事例についてご講演いただきます。もちろん、GT-SUITEの最新機能についてもご説明させていただきます。

振り返ると202011月、COVID-19による行動制限に伴って止むを得ず、職場からでもご自宅からでも様々な技術情報を収集していただけるオンラインカンファレンス「IDAJ Conference Online」を開催して参りました。コロナ禍直前のカンファレンスと、オンラインカンファレンスへのご登録者様の数を比較すると、その数は約230%に増加し、この参加のための時間と場所を選ばない情報提供プラットフォームは、非常に有益であることを強く認識するにいたりました。そこで、今年はご講演者様のご厚意により、会場でのご発表を12月のオンラインイベントでも動画としてご提供いただき、ご業務やスケジュールのご都合で会場までお越しいただけないお客様にも貴重なご講演をご覧いただけるようになりました。また、1110日(金)の一日だけではご紹介しきれないソフトウェア開発元やIDAJ等からの技術情報を、オンラインイベントで多数お届けします。

Vehicle Multi-physics Systems Integration and Optimization 

This seminar will focus on Vehicle level simulation for ICEVs & xEVs covering overview of various architectures like single motor, dual motor capable of modeling FWD, RWD, AWD, etc. Session will also highlight some of the key features of GT related to vehicle domain namely GT-RealDrive for real world drive cycle generation, GT-Drive+ for quick and easy model creation from scratch, Powertrain sizing, Battery Modeling, IRDE compliant cycle generation, ECMS/DP for HEV controls optimization, GT-FEMAG for system integrationn of E-motor. Accurate prediction of heat generation and losses from various components like battery, motor, inverter and other vehicle subsystems. Additionally, we will also highlight some of the database option available within GT for various subsystems to assist you at early stages of development cycle. In the end we will also cover some of the new and exciting features coming up in v2024 in the field of vehicle modeling.

Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Systems Integration and Optimization 

This seminar will cover fuel cell system modeling with a particular focus on new features and advancements to modeling capabilities. Online Engine Friction Modeling for Cranktrain Components

This class is intended for users with previous experience or users who participate in this free-of-charge Introduction Training and preferably the Cranktrain Modeling Training.

This 1-day class will focus on the sub-systems that play a major part in terms of overall mechanical power losses of an engine. The participants will learn how to set these systems up, how to investigate different designs/parameters and how to put everything in context.

This course will be conducted online via web meeting.

  • CFD Flow Field Mapping:
    • Requirements to CFD data to be used for CFD FFM
    • Modeling building in COOL3D/GEM3D using CFD data and export to GT-ISE
    • Using CFD data as flow solution in GT-ISE
    • Running simulations using CFD data
  • Human Thermal Model:
    • Modeling of human in GT-TAITherm model
    • Including human in the simulation model
    • Running simulations including human thermal model

Online Cabin Modeling & Simulation (Basic)

This class is intended for users with previous experience or users who participate in this free-of-charge Introduction Training.

This 1-day class will introduce to cabin modeling and simulation in GT-SUITE. It will introduce the user to the three different levels of cabin modeling in GT-SUITE: Mono-Volume, Multi-Volume and 3D. For each level the model building process will be covered, and best simulation practices introduced. For the 3D cabin the thermal structure will be modelled in GT-TAITherm.

This course will be conducted online via web meeting.

To reserve your spot, you must have access to the following:

  • Computer with GT-SUITE v2023 (the training will be conducted with v2023, but if you only have v2022 that is acceptable)
  • Access to an active license
  • Good internet connection
  • Ideally two monitors/devices (although not required)

The class will consist primarily of interactive model building exercises. The following are the primary topics to be covered:

  • Building a cabin air loop: Modeling of a cabin air loop including HVAC door, cabin blower, cabin heater and controls. Further the cabin air loop will be connected to an AC system.
  • Mono-Volume cabin: Usage and calibration of a mono-volume cabin and integration into the cabin air loop
  • Multi-Volume cabin: Usage and calibration of a multi-volume cabin and integration it into the cabin air loop
  • 3D cabin:
    • 3D Model building in COOL3D/GEM3D and export to GT-ISE
    • 3D thermal structure model in GT-TAITherm (Note: The model building in GT-TAITherm is covered in the Cabin Modeling (Advanced) training)
    • Usage and calibration of the 3D cabin and integration into the cabin air loop

This FREE 1-day class will introduce GT-SUITE to new users. The intention of this training is to provide an overview of different GT-domains and to teach the software handling.

This course will be conducted online via web meeting.

Learn the basics of GT-SUITE in this free course.  This class contains approximately 9 hours of instruction, spread over 2 half days.

Day 1 – Monday, 4th December – 13:00 – 17:30

Day 2 – Tuesday, 5th December– 08:30 – 13:00

This class is intended for users with previous experience or users who participate in this free-of-charge Introduction Training.

This course will introduce engineers to the modeling of fuel injection and hydraulic components and complete hydraulic systems in GT-SUITE.  

This course will be conducted online via web meeting.

To reserve your spot, you must have access to the following:

  • Computer with GT-SUITE v2023 (the training will be conducted with v2023, but if you only have v2022 that is acceptable)
  • Access to an active license
  • Good internet connection

The class will include discussions of simple to detailed, predictive component models in which the fluid-mechanical interaction is important. Most of the instructions will be based on interactive model building but may also include demonstrations from the instructor and guided examination/analysis of pre-built models. 

  • Introduction to Flow Solution in GT-SUITE  
  • Discretization of 1-D Models 
  • Fluid Properties for modeling hydraulic circuits 
  • Explanation of flow solvers used for different hydraulic tasks 
  • Modeling hydraulic and injection components: create detailed, predictive models of hydraulic components in which the fluid-mechanical interaction is important. Examples of the components to be discussed include high pressure pumps, pressure control valves, injectors, etc. Pressure pulsation will also be analyzed. 
  • Modeling pumps: discussion of different levels of models as well as the different types of pumps. 
  • Modeling a hydraulic system: build a model of the full system. Various levels of detail for modeling the hydraulic components (pumps, valves, etc.) will be discussed, ranging from imposing the behavior to predicting it. 
  • Modeling of control parts interacting with hydraulic components
