This course is designed for new users of GT-POWER and GT-SUITE. This course will focus on the simulation of internal combustion engines through the use of GT-POWER. It will cover the following topics:
• Introductory concepts of GT-SUITE
• 1-D simulation of flow in the intake and exhaust systems
• Discretization of the intake and exhaust systems
• Modeling of: valves, combustion, heat transfer and injection
• Post-processing (GT-POST)
Each participant will have his/her own computer. The course will include the construction of models and use of the software so the participants will learn how to use the software immediately and may ask questions
• Construction of a 1-cylinder engine model
• Construction of a 4-cylinder engine model
• Variations of the two models that demonstrate possibilities such as parameter sweeps, transient simulations and optimization
The afternoon of the second day will be left open to discuss extra topics. The topics will selected by the participants. Some possible topics are:
• Combustion & Heat Release Calculations
• Turbochargers
• Muffler Pre-processor
• User routines
• Controls & Simulink
• CFD Coupling
• SI Turbulent Flame Model & DI Jet Model
Please contact GTI to let us know which extra topics you want included.
Course will start at 9.00 and end at 17.00
