This webinar explores how GT-SUITE, through real-time modeling and XCP harness integration, enables the use of virtual sensors to reduce physical instrumentation while still providing high-fidelity, system-level insights.

Topic: Gearbox Power Loss Prediction with Increasing Levels of Fidelity 

Understanding component power losses under steady-state conditions is crucial for optimal gearbox design. By analyzing individual component losses early in the design process, engineers can make informed decisions to enhance overall gearbox efficiency.

Gamma Technologies has developed a validated workflow for gearbox loss prediction, using a system-level modeling approach that aligns with test measurements. This work has been further extended to high-fidelity tribology models for gear tooth and roller bearing contacts, incorporating a formal Elastic-hydro-dynamic (EHD) solution. This enhancement provides deeper insights into power losses and enables engineers to explore geometry modifications for improved efficiency.

Additionally, this high-fidelity approach accounts for temperature and localized effects, allowing for a detailed thermal balance equation to predict oil film temperature, body temperatures, and subsurface stresses in Gear3D and Roller Bearing3D models.

A Guide to Electric Aircraft Systems Sizing: ePowertrain, TMS, and ECS Analysis

In today’s fast-changing aviation industry, multiphysics system simulation is essential for designing modern aircraft, especially those with electrified propulsion systems. Simulating various physical phenomena like thermal, electrical, and mechanical is crucial in predicting performance, optimizing energy efficiency, and ensuring the safe operation of intricate electric aircraft designs. By using advanced simulation software, engineers can effectively investigate a wide range of electric aircraft designs, reducing the reliance on expensive prototypes and speeding up the development timeline.

This 45-minute webinar will introduce a physics-driven approach to simulate electric airplane systems — specifically looking at full-electric setups with several power supplies — which allows for the dimensioning and preliminary design of ePowertrain, thermal, and hydrogen subsystems to enhance performance across different mission profiles and environmental conditions. The session will explore advanced simulation software’s ability to analyze how various parameters affect system behavior.

The program will dive into the approach including changing the setup of batteries, the features of fuel cell stacks, and the key parameters of the e-Powertrain thermal management system (TMS). This class is intended for users with previous experience or users who participate in this free-of-charge Introduction Training.

This 2-days class is designed for new users of GT-SUITE Valvetrain Application. It will focus on the simulation of engine valvetrains using ValvetrainDesign and GT-SUITE. There will also be an introduction to the full camshaft modelling and trouble-shooting exercises in GT-SUITE.  This class contains approximately 8 hours of instruction.

Day 1 – Wednesday, 27^th November – 10:00 – 14:00

Day 2 – Thursday, 28^th November – 10:00 – 14:00

This course will be conducted online via web meeting.

To reserve your spot, you must have access to the following:

• Computer with GT-SUITE v2024
• Access to an active license
• Good internet connection
• Ideally two monitors/devices (although not required)
  • one to follow the instructor on the web meeting (web browser only)
  • one to use GT-SUITE for interactive model building

The class will consist primarily of interactive model building exercises. The following are the primary topics to be covered:

Day 1 (~ 4 hours)

• Introduction to ValvetrainDesign template- replacing old VTDESIGN
• Cam design using CamDesignHSpline reference object
• Spring design using SpringGeomFE reference object
• Introduction to quasi-dynamic (QDA) and dynamic analysis

Day 2 (~ 4 hours)

• Adding features to the dynamic model
• Hydraulic Lash Adjuster
• Pressure/Torque Boundary Conditions
• Full camshaft modeling
• Troubleshooting exercises

自動車開発におけるカーボンニュートラルの実現に向けて、電動化や水素を含む代替燃料など各種検討が進むなか、従来のコンベ車以外の領域でGT-SUITEをご利用いただくお客様が急速に増えていることを実感いたします。
また各社で取り組んでいらっしゃるMBDにおいては、GT-SUITEでモデル縮退やGT-SUITE-RT、GT-POWERxRT、GT-AutoLion-RTといった高速ソルバーにデータ変換することで、Vプロセスの左バンクでの利用だけでなく、右バンクにおけるHILSでのバーチャルキャリブレーションや実機連成によるリアルタイムシミュレーションなど、開発工程のあらゆるプロセスに適用領域が拡大しています。
さらにDAC（Direct Air Capture）システムなどに代表される地球温暖化を緩和する技術検討においてもGT-SUITEをご検討・ご利用いただくお客様が増えてきました。本検討においてはGT-SUITEがシステムシミュレーションツールでありながら、豊富な物理モデルによって比較的詳細なモデル化を実現し、過渡計算にも対応できる点が他のツールと比較して有効であると考えています。

AICE（自動車用内燃機関技術組合）様からはMBDの取組みについての概要をご紹介いただきます。小野測器様からはMBD推進の新しい取り組みとして弊社とのコラボレーション企画であるGT-SUITEで構築したBYD元PLUSの熱マネ性能モデルについてご紹介いただきます。
電動化の開発に欠かせないバッテリーのモデル化に有効なGT-AutoLionの活用事例として、マツダ様からGT-AutoLionと機械学習を活用した1D車両システム解析用バッテリー劣化予測モデルについて、東芝様からは電池性能予測モデルと電池劣化診断データを組み合わせた中古電池の残価予測について、日本ナショナルインスツルメンツ様からは次世代EV開発を支えるHILS環境の進化と実践についてご講演いただきます。
3D系の高度なメカニカル機能（Multi Body Dynamics）の活用事例としては、ダイハツディーゼル様より気筒休止時のクランク軸ねじり振動解析についてご講演いただきます。
