Project and Applications Engineer: Thermal Fluids

Gamma Technologies develops, markets, and sells engineering simulation software called GT-SUITE. With roots in the automotive industry, GT’s software is leveraged by nearly all the world’s leading automotive manufacturers. Our solutions help automotive companies build more fuel-efficient vehicles that get better gas mileage and reduce emissions without sacrificing vehicle performance. The move from traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) powered by gasoline or diesel fuel to electrified vehicles presents an enormous market opportunity for GT as our software allows Electrical Vehicle manufactures and their suppliers to design better vehicles. Regulatory agencies globally have mandated that vehicle manufacturers reduce harmful environmental emission output, or they will face significant financial penalties and GT helps our clients meet these mandates.

In addition to the automotive industry, GT serves the aerospace, HVAC and marine industries.

Position Summary

This position primarily supports our growing non-automotive applications within the thermal fluids group, including aircraft, spacecraft, industrial pumps and compressors, HVAC, and water heating. This position will also secondarily support our hydraulics, fuel systems, lubrication, and pumps applications. This position offers an outlet for creativity through active participation in the product design and development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist customers that use our software to design and analyze their systems.
  • Work with new customers and train them to use GT-SUITE.
  • Use customer feedback and interaction to develop specifications for new product features.
  • Design, develop, test and document new product feature.
  • Travel occasionally to conferences and customer locations around the United States.

Education and Experience

  • MS or BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0.
  • New college graduates or experienced engineers are welcome.

Technology Skills

  • Experience with system simulation software and other CAE tools.
  • Experience with aircraft or spacecraft systems
  • Experience with developing and/or using non-commercial modeling and simulation software
  • Advanced understanding of thermodynamics, combustion, fluid mechanics and heat transfer
