Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Gamma Technologies, LLC (GT) is looking for a part-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant with a solid work ethic, excellent judgment, and a desire to build a long-term career with us.

Position Summary

Gamma Technologies is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our legal team. The paralegal/legal assistant will review and organize files, conduct legal research, prepare documents for legal transactions and, draft contracts for attorney review. The position will start part-time (~20 to 25 hours weekly) and may transition to full-time in the future.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, proofread, and process legal documents for review by attorneys.
  • Maintain and update contract management tool.
  • Investigate facts and law and search pertinent sources, such as public records and internet sources, to determine course of action.
  • Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents.
  • Draft and type memos and letters.
  • Research relevant legal materials to aid decision making.
  • Assist attorneys and employees with visa applications and other USCIS matters.
  • Review client licensing and non-disclosure status for validity and currency.
  • Evaluate information related to legal matters.
  • Receive and place telephone calls.
  • Schedule and make appointments.
  • Scan, upload, and file documents.
  • Make photocopies of correspondence.
  • Assist attorneys in collecting information such as employment, pay and other records.
  • Calendar/deadline management.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree.
  • In lieu of a degree, 4 years legal experience.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines through to timely completion.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities with little oversight.

Technology Skills

  • Knowledge of and skilled in using software including Microsoft Office suite and Adobe.
  • Experience with electronic signatures (e.g., DocuSign) and ability to easily adopt new technologies based on business needs.
  • knowledge of software licensing and/or export controls processes preferred
