The 2007 GT-SUITE European Conference was held in Frankfurt on October 8, 2007. This year’s conference was very successful, with a record attendance of over 170. To accommodate the larger audience, the conference was moved this year to the Steigenberger Hotel at the Frankfurt Airport.

The 2007 GT-SUITE U.S. Conference, was held in Birmingham, Michigan on November 13, 2007. It also had a record attendance, with over 100 engineers attending.

In total, over 20 user presentations were given at the two conferences, including two each from BMW, General Motors, and International Truck and Engine. GTI would like to thank all of the presenters for their significant contributions to the conferences. The presentations are available for viewing in our Conference Archives.
As was the case in Europe, this conference also covered all of the GT-SUITE applications. Beyond the traditional engine simulation topics, there were papers on crankshaft and gear rattle modeling, cooling system modeling and on lubrication system modeling.
As usual, the traditional evening at the bar on the night before the conference provided an opportunity for meeting friends and colleagues.

The new venue was also ideally configured to accommodate a new format for the conference, which for the first time included split sessions on various modeling topics. There were concurrent sessions on turbocharged engine modeling with GT-POWER and mechanical system modeling with GT-CRANK, GT-VTRAIN, and GT-DRIVE. After lunch, the split session format continued with general engine modeling with GT-POWER, and a concurrent session on hydraulic and cooling system modeling with GT-FUEL and GT-COOL.

The morning began with a joint session which included presentations on basic engine performance modeling, as well as a presentation by Gerald Seider of BMW on engine thermal system modeling
