Note (1): Macrovision has renamed new version of FLEXlm to FLEXnet.
Note (2): FLEXnet v11.4 supports Vista as a local license server.
Note (3): FLEXnet v11.4 has been found to fix several problems with license server unexpectedly losing contact with the hardlock.
To install this update:
(1) It is recommended that you login as Administrator. Before proceeding make sure the license server is not running. Stop the license server by running lmtools.exe and clicking "Stop Server" button under "Start/Stop/Reread" tab. You may need to use the check box "Force Server Shutdown" under the "Stop Server" button to force it to stop.
(2) Extract and copy the contents of the downloaded Flexlm files into the GTIHOME\flexlm directory. GTIHOME here (and everywhere below) refers to your actual location, for example C:\GTI.
(3) Install the HASPHL driver. To do this run HASPUserSetup.exe from GTIHOME\flexlm directory and follow steps on the screen.
(4) Setup the license server again if necessary. Start (double-click) the lmtools.exe file in the GTIHOME\flexlm directory. Go to the "Config Services" tab to create a license service. Assign a name at the top, for example GTISOFT License Service, and specify the 3 file paths. The lmgrd.exe file and the license.dat file are in the GTIHOME\flexlm directory, so you can use the browse option. The log file may not exist yet, so you will have to specify the path and name manually. We suggest using GTIHOME\flexlm\gtilog.log. Make sure the "Use services" and "Start server at power up" options are checked. Then save the service.
(5) Start the license server in lmtools by going to the "Start/Stop/Reread tab" and pressing the "Start Server" button. Try starting the software (GT-ISE). If you encounter any errors when starting please try rebooting the license server machine. If you still have errors after rebooting please call or e-mail us with the error you are getting and we will help you. Make sure to include the license server log file when emailing our technical support.
