COMBUSTION AND CHEMICAL KINETICS ENGINEER
Design, develop, test & implement advanced modeling components of company's proprietary engineering software used by automotive industry clients using principles of chemical engineering and advanced object-oriented simulation techniques. Develop models of engine combustion & emissions using equations governing gas thermodynamics and thermochemistry, thermochemical equilibrium, thermophysical properties of gases, chemical kinetics, fuel-oxidant mixing and interactions between combustion & fluid flow. Develop numerical algorithms for reacting flow. Participate in the design & development of new models and features of company's software to accurately predict combustion efficiency, fuel economy & engine emissions. Provide technical expertise and support to commercial licensees using company's software. Modify software component pursuant to customer needs. Tools: C; Fortran; Matlab.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D in Chemical Engineering
- Previous experience or Graduate education must include: modeling chemical kinetics of combustion; developing numerical algorithms for reacting flow; MATL
